After 22 years of full time production turning and the chance to try lots of other equipment - there is no contest. Vicmarc makes the best lathes and chucks for woodturning. Aside from the technical side of things - they are beautiful to look at. If you are going to have a tool you touch every day it might as well be easy on the eyes. When you look at the best production turners and teachers - most of them choose Vicmarc equipment for the same reasons.
